Partner Programme Terms

These terms apply to the Wizdough partner programme. If you promote a Wizdough product using a partner code or a tracked link we issued to you, this is the agreement between us. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply.

The short version

You earn 30% of every payment we receive from a customer who bought through your code or link, for as long as that customer keeps paying us and the arrangement between us is still running — and for 90 days afterwards if we are the ones who end it. See Ending it.
Your audience gets 15% off their first billing period.
A click is remembered for 90 days. A code has no expiry of its own beyond the one printed on it.
Paid as Stripe settles, or monthly by PayPal or Wise once you have reached $25.
Say that it is paid. Every time you use your code, disclose the relationship.

What you get

We issue you a personal discount code, for example WISE15XX, and a tracked link in the form wizdough.com/r/WISE15XX. Either one identifies a sale as yours. The code can be spoken aloud in a video; the link works for anyone who clicks it.

A licence for yourself, free. Ask and we will give you one seat of the product you are promoting, at no charge, for as long as the arrangement lasts. It is for your own use so that you can actually use the thing you are recommending. You are under no obligation to mention it, review it, or say anything about it — the licence is not payment for coverage, and it is not withdrawn if you decide the product is not for your audience.

Commission is 30% of the amount we actually receive, before payment processing fees are deducted from us and before any refund.

Subscriptions: 30% of every payment, including every renewal, for as long as that subscription lasts and this arrangement is still running. If a customer you referred stays for a year on a $25 monthly plan, that is roughly $90 to you. See Ending it for what happens if the arrangement stops.
One-time products: 30% of the sale.

Most of this is settled automatically by Stripe at the moment each payment is taken. We reconcile the full set of attributed sales monthly and pay anything Stripe did not.

What your audience gets

15% off their first billing period. On a subscription that is the first invoice; on a one-time product it is the purchase. Renewals are at the ordinary price.

Subscription products also include a 7-day free trial for anyone with a free account, which starts the day they subscribe. A trial has not been paid for, so it earns no commission until it converts.

Attribution

A code applied at checkout is definitive. However the buyer arrived, the code they use decides whose sale it is.
A tracked link is remembered for 90 days. Following wizdough.com/r/YOURCODE stores your code in that visitor's browser and applies it automatically when they check out, for 90 days or until they clear it. It holds nothing but the code.
Last code wins. If a buyer follows two partners' links, the most recent one is the one applied.
We record the code at the moment of sale. Attribution is not re-derived later, so it does not drift.

Payment

How you are paid depends on which method you set up, and the two work differently. We would rather say so than describe an average that is true of neither.

With a connected Stripe account, your share is transferred at the moment each payment is taken. There is no minimum and no waiting period.
By PayPal or Wise, we pay monthly, in the month following the one in which the commission was earned, once your balance reaches $25. Anything below that rolls forward.
Tax. You are responsible for your own taxes. Before your first payout we may ask you to complete a tax form: an IRS Form W-9 if you are a US person, or the relevant Form W-8 if you are not. If we pay you $600 or more in a calendar year we will issue a Form 1099-NEC. Stripe handles its own reporting for connected accounts.
Refunds and chargebacks are deducted. If a customer is refunded, the commission on that payment comes back off your balance, in proportion to what was refunded. If the amount is more than your current balance, the difference carries forward as a negative balance against future commission.

What is not payable

Your own purchases, and purchases by anyone in your household or company.
Sales to existing Wizdough customers renewing or upgrading a product they already had before you referred them. Someone whose subscription to that product lapsed more than 90 days ago counts as new.
Traffic you paid for on our brand name. Do not bid on "Wizdough", our product names, or close variants in any ad platform.
Anything obtained by fraud, including self-referral through a second account, fake accounts, or cards that are later charged back.
Sales that arrive with your code from a coupon or deal site. If your code is scraped and republished, tell us and we will reissue it.

How you may promote us

Disclose that it is paid, every time. United States FTC rules require a clear and conspicuous disclosure wherever you use your code: in the video itself, in the description, in the post. This is not optional and it is the one term we will end an arrangement over. The free licence above counts as a material connection too, so disclose it on the same footing as the commission. We check. We look at content that uses partner codes from time to time. A missing disclosure gets one request to fix it; a second ends the arrangement.
No profit or performance claims, yours or anyone else’s. Do not present specific profits, win rates, account balances or P&L as results of using the product, and do not present simulated or backtested results at all. This holds even when the number is true and it is your own: we cannot substantiate your trading, and a claim made in one of your videos is treated as a claim made by us. Our products are tools for a trading platform. They are not signals, not advice, and not a guarantee of profit. See our Risk Disclosure.
Describe the product as it is. Do not claim features it does not have.
Do not impersonate Wizdough. No accounts, sites, or pages that present themselves as us.
No spam. No unsolicited email, no comment spam, no posting your code where the venue's rules forbid it.
Using our name and materials. While the arrangement lasts you may use the Wizdough name, logo, screenshots and videos to promote the products, as they are and without altering them. You may not register them, use them in a domain or app name, or present yourself as us. If the arrangement ends, stop using them in new material; you do not have to take down old videos.

Ending it

Either of us can end this at any time, for any reason, with no notice required.

Commission stops when the arrangement stops. We will pay you everything already earned on payments taken up to that date, and nothing after it. Renewals by customers you referred continue to be ours from that point on. We would rather state this plainly than leave you to discover it: recurring commission runs while you are a partner, not forever.

If we are the ones who end it, and you have not broken these terms, commission carries on for 90 days on subscriptions you had already referred. That is here so the paragraph above cannot be used against you: without it, we could end an arrangement the day after you did the work and keep everything that followed.

If the arrangement ends because of fraud or a breach of the promotion rules above, unpaid commission is forfeited as well.

We may change these terms. If we change the commission rate or the cookie window, the change applies to sales made after we tell you, never retroactively.

The legal part

Short, because at this size it should be.

You are an independent contractor, not our employee, agent or representative, and you may not make commitments on our behalf.

You are responsible for your own promotional content, and you will cover us against claims arising from statements you make that these terms prohibit.

Our liability to you under these terms is limited to the commission paid or payable to you in the twelve months before the claim. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits.

Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Dispute Resolution section of our Terms of Service applies to disputes under these terms as well.
